About The Artist: Baron Franz Courtens was a renowned Belgian painter and key figure in the Dendermonde School, known for his nature and landscape works. He taught at the Royal Academy in Antwerp (1904–1924) and was a friend of Leopold II, who granted him special access to Parc of Laeken.
