About The Artist: David Klöcker Ehrenstråhl (1628–1698) was a Swedish nobleman and renowned court painter. Born in Hamburg, he studied in Amsterdam and Italy before settling in Sweden. He painted portraits of royalty and notable figures, created grand allegorical ceiling frescoes, and taught several artists, including his daughter Anna Maria Ehrenstrahl.
